OM in October

October is one of my most favorite months of the year. There is magick in the air with the excitement of witches, black cats and spells, ghosts and spirit realms beyond our reach. 

Because the energy is buzzing so quickly, it can feel a little scary at times. We observe in nature all the changes happening quickly with the weather getting colder, and darker hours. We may feel out of control as we chase the sun hours and warmer days.  As exciting as it is, the unknown can also stir within us hidden fears and because we are more in touch with our shadow sides this time of year, it can all feel a bit overwhelming at times. Regardless of where you are on your spiritual journey, this is a fun and exciting time of tricks and treats! 

A great way to stay grounded when energy is in "buzz mode" is to chant Om.

Om pronounced "Aum" is a Mantra that we repeat to connect to Higher Consciousness, God, Universe, whatever word you feel most comfortable using. Chanting Om is believed to purify the environment around you and create positive energy. It helps us to focus and also is very therapeutic for the Throat Chakra.

This month in our Conscious Community via Facebook, we will be taking part in the Om in October Challenge. Each day we will settle into our sacred space, on our mats, check in with our bodies, our emotions, and our mental state and then we will turn inward, focusing on the breath, inhaling deeply and as you exhale chanting "Auuuummmmm". We will do this for a minimum of 5 minutes each day and record our experience. If you would like to join us, we would love to have you!
