When Women Gather: The Sacred, Unspoken Power of Healing in Circle
This past weekend, I had the absolute honor of holding space for a group of women during my Art & Yoga Retreat with Meg Staples at DragonFly Barn Yoga in beautiful New Hampshire. As we moved, breathed, created, and shared in circle, something ancient awakened in the room. This energy is something I have noticed at the previous retreats; the magick when women gather and heal together.
There were moments—soft, quiet, but undeniable—when we knew what the other was thinking without speaking. Words weren’t always needed. There was a kind of telepathic connection. A soul-level attunement. We had dropped into something primal and powerful… something so much bigger than us as individuals.
It left me reflecting:
Why is it so powerful when women come together like this?
We Remember Who We Are
When we enter a sacred container—a space held with intention, trust, and love—we soften. We exhale. The nervous system relaxes and the masks begin to fall away. For many of us, it’s the first time in a long time (or ever) that we feel truly seen for who we are. And in that moment of being witnessed, something profound happens:
We remember who we’ve always been.
Collective Energy is Magnetic
There is a beautiful phenomenon that happens when women breathe, move, and create in unison: we sync. Our bodies and energy fields begin to resonate together, creating a kind of healing current that runs through the space.
This is why we can finish each other’s sentences.
Why someone else cries, and we feel it in our chest.
Why one woman’s breakthrough becomes a breakthrough for us all.
It’s magick. It’s resonance. It’s energy. It’s real.
It’s in Our Bones
For centuries—long before modern life pulled us apart—women gathered in circles. We sat together around fires, in red tents, during moon ceremonies, postpartum, during rites of passage.
We shared stories.
We grieved together.
We laughed. We sang. We healed.
This memory lives in our bones. When we gather like this now, even if it feels new to our minds, our bodies remember.
And that remembrance is healing in and of itself.
The Mirror of Sisterhood
There’s something profoundly healing about being reflected back with love. In circle, the women around us often speak words we didn’t even realize we needed to hear. They affirm things we secretly hoped were true about ourselves. They hold up a mirror—not of judgment, but of truth.
And through that reflection, we rise.
Healing as Rebellion
We live in a culture that thrives on our disconnection—from ourselves, from each other, from the earth. But when women come together to heal, to rest, to nourish their creativity and reclaim their power… that’s revolutionary.
It breaks the old spell of separation and reminds us:
We are not alone.
We were never meant to do this alone.
And our healing is not just personal—it’s collective.
As I begin dreaming into our Fall Retreat, I hold this truth close: the magick isn’t in the schedule or the location or the perfect playlist.
The magick is in the women.
The courage to show up.
The willingness to be seen.
The wild beauty of remembering that we belong to one another.
If this speaks to something deep in your soul, stay close.
The next circle is forming.
